Production Process of Poplar Plywood

 

 

Log Selection & Peeling: Sustainably sourced poplar logs are debarked and rotary-cut into thin veneers using a lathe.

Veneer Drying: Fresh veneers are dried in kilns to reduce moisture content to 8-12%, ensuring stability.

Grading & Layering: Veneers are graded by quality. Layers are cross-laminated (perpendicular grain direction) to enhance strength.

Gluing & Pressing: Layers are bonded with eco-friendly adhesives (e.g., E0/E1 urea-formaldehyde or phenolic resin) and compressed under high heat (130–150°C) in a hot press.

Curing & Trimming: Panels cool to set the adhesive, then edges are trimmed to precise dimensions (e.g., 4x8 feet).

Sanding & Finishing: Surfaces are sanded smooth (A/B/C grades) and inspected for defects.

Quality Control: Panels undergo tests for moisture, density, and formaldehyde compliance before packaging.
