WBP Film Faced Plywood

WBP Plywood film faced is a special type of plywood with both sides coated with a wear-resistant, waterproof film. The film is meant to protect the wood from harsh environmental conditions and extend the service period of the plywood. 

What is WBP Glue?

WBP is short for "Water Boiled Proof." "Water BoiledProof" means to resistant to weather, boiling, or steam treatment. If the plywood with WBP glue, this plywood can be used outdoors for a long time (even permanent) which is waterproof, moisture resisitant. WBP glue is not the name of a certain kind of glue. WBP is a property, feature, or characteristic of a class of adhesives. If a glue has the properties of WBP(Water Boiled Proof, that is, resistance to weather, water), it can be called WBP glue.

Generally speaking, melamine and phenolic glue can be called WBP glue.

Melamine Glue:  Melamine fortified urea-formaldehyde glue is a very strong adhesive with waterproof capability. Film faced plywood made with melamine glue can withstand 6-10 hours of water boiling without delamination. WBP melamine is also called B-bond.

Phenolic Glue:  cPhenolic is the best glue for formwork plywood. It is a permanent bond that can bond the veneers permanently and strongly. Phenolic is also called A-bond for its great performance. It can pass 48-72 hours boil test.
